Ms. Tink Goes to Washington...

This past weekend we took our Tink to Washington DC to visit with Ian's college friend Chuck and his family. Our traveler did a great job in the car and was thrilled to arrive at a house filled with cool new toys and a rough-and-tumble 13 month old boy. Ryan and Jay were fast friends, bonding over their shared love of dance.

On Saturday afternoon we went into the city to see the WWII memorial on the mall. We had a fun time people watching, climbing stairs, petting random dogs, and trying desperately to take a dip in the reflecting pool.

Our girlie was exhausted after dinner, a big girl bath in the tub (her first!) and another hour of play before heading off to bed. Following kiddie bedtime we greatly enjoyed some adult conversation and fondue--I am still dreaming about those brownies!

We returned home in the early AM Sunday to pick-up Jack from "camp" and get some work done around the house. Thanks for the wonderful weekend Chuck, Anju, and Jay!

Party Girl...

This past weekend our Tink went to a birthday party for Halle--she turned the big 0-1! Ryan put on her party dress, took a power nap and was raring to go. She was enthralled by the chatty birthday girl (seen below) and held her own in an impressive screeching match. Then Rainbow the Clown showed up for dancing, balloon animals, and face painting. The crowd was a bit young to appreciate Rainbows talents, but they seemed to have fun none the less. Happy First Birthday Halle!
